This multinational manufacturing organisation based in the western suburbs is a market leader in the product segments it operates in. An opportunity now exists for an Assistant Accountant to join its close-knit Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the scope of this role encompasses the reconciliation and control of bank accounts, general accounting analysis and general ledger reconciliation, fixed asset register maintenance and the provision of tax compliance support.

Specific accountabilities include:

• Updating the cash flow report
• Reconciliation of bank accounts, general ledger accounts
• Managing the month end journal process
• Fixed Assets Register, reports and reconciliations
• Preparation of tax return - GST, FBT, IAS, royalty withholding taxes and payroll taxes
• Preparation of Quarterly Reports and ABS Surveys
• Extensive support for the Audit
• Providing adhoc assistance to members of the finance team when required

To qualify for this opportunity you must have:

• Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role
• Tertiary qualification in accounting and perhaps working towards your CPA
• Proficiency with SAP - Business Warehouse & Cartesis also an advantage
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel
• Superior communication and analytical problem solving skills
• Manufacturing industry experience advantageous but not essential
