About our Client Our client is a large privately owned market leader that has been established in the Australian market for more than 60 years. They supply a range of equipment and services to corporate, trade and private customers and pride themselves on the quality of their service and products. With bullish growth plans for the medium term, our client is about to engage on a period of growth and change and have identified the need for a proactive and capable Project Fixed Assets Accountant to complete a 3 month project. Job Description Reporting to the Financial Controller key responsibilities of this crucial project role include: - Conducting a complex reconciliation of a high volume nature within the fixed assets register to balance with the General Ledger at 30 June 2010. This will involve manipulation of high volumes of data.
- Extract relevant fixed asset financials to complete the year end statutory reporting.
- Documentation of processes and reports and identification of key areas for improvement within Fixed Assets.
- Handle and resolve all related business queries and ad hoc information analysis concerning Fixed Assets.
- Redesign reporting of monthly Capital Expenditure Commitments to provide enhanced information to the business.
The Successful Applicant The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar position, with a track record of success in complex reconciliations and assisting senior management to improve processes and procedures. You will be deadline focused, committed to on-time delivery and have experience of working in a fast paced, complex and multi-site environment. An ability to manipulate and interpret data and present your findings concisely will be essential to your success in the role. Interpersonally you will be a proactive, solutions driven individual who challenges the status quo and can act as an agent for change within the organisation. You will be an effective communicator with previous experience in working closely with senior non-finance stakeholders and possess strong MS Excel and preferably SQL skills.
